How does the "wait list" work?
If the class you want to enroll in is full, get on the wait list! Schedules for children frequently change, especially at the beginning of the school year. If someone drops the class, I'll let you know and give you the opportunity to join us. Also, if several families are on the waiting list, we can open another class.
Do I have to buy the Kindermusik home materials?
Yes. It is part of every Kindermusik educator's license agreement to ensure that participating families have the home materials. It is our belief that children's best teachers are you, the parents. And, the home materials allow you to continue the Kindermusik experience and learning at home. If an older sibling has participated in Kindermusik, and you have his/her materials, contact me so we can make sure you have all the components.
What happens if I miss a class?
I teach many classes during the week, and you are welcome to come to another class to make up the class you missed. Make sure you call or email me so we can make arrangements.
In six years of teaching, I have had to cancel classes twice (once for the flu, and once following a car accident). If, for some reason, I have to cancel Kindermusik, we will schedule make-up classes.
Can I enroll after a Kindermusik semester has already begun?
Yes, space permitting. I will prorate your tuition so you do not pay for classes prior to your enrollment.
Are any discounts available?
A $50 discount is given to siblings enrolled in Kindermusik. The discount is taken from the second child's tuition. In addition, sibling kits are available when siblings are enrolled in the same curriculum. Sibling kits are generally $35.
When are tuition and material fees due?
Material fees are collected upon enrollment. If you are not a current Kindermusik family, mail material fees to me at: Jill Vaughan, 5220 Harvest Ridge Lane, Birmingham, AL 35242. Tuition is due the first day of class. You are welcome to make arrangements to pay tuition in 2-3 payments.
Can I get a refund if I drop the class?
Kindermusik classes are limited in size and frequently fill up. Therefore, refunds are given on a case-by-case basis. Refunds will be given when a situation makes withdrawal necessary (such as a family move or long-term illness).
Children can often take a few weeks to settle into the routine of Kindermusik, me and the surroundings. Therefore, I request families to actively participate for at least four continuous weeks before dropping the class.
